Tomorrow, Friday, February 24th the students will be dismissed at 11:30 A.M. due to a faculty in-service.Bus service and JagCare will both be available.Students who are attending JagCare will need to bring a sack lunch and a drink; the cost for JagCare is $5 per day per student.
We are also still looking for volunteers for two events tomorrow, Friday, February 24th.Parents and students are needed to help set up for the Speech Meet at 11:30 A.M. Volunteers are also needed to help pick up and deliver furniture for the school; movers need to meet at Belle Valley North in Belleville at 4:00 P.M.We already have three trailers available for hauling the desks, cabinets, and bookshelves back to St. John’s.
Junior Kindergarten, Kindergarten, 1st grade, 7th grade, and 8th grade families are encouraged to RSVP to the school by tomorrow for the Focus Group potluck lunch and meeting being held on Sunday, February 26th from 11:30-1:30.After families enjoy a lunch together in the Munier Center, parents will meet with school board members who will facilitate a dialogue on what you love about St. John’s and where there might be room for improvement. During that time, students will meet for activities with their Mass buddies under the supervision of Mrs. McKay.Please bring a side dish or dessert to share; sandwiches and drinks will be provided.Raffle prizes will also be awarded in appreciation of your participation.

The Paul Schaefer Scholarship
from the Catholic Holy Family Society will be awarded at the 10:00A.M. Mass
tomorrow January 29, and we will be celebrating the beginning of Catholic
Schools Week.This $500
scholarship will be applied to the 2012-2013 school year.If you did not return your form
yesterday through the blue envelope, it is not too late to enter.Extra forms will be available as you
enter church for the 10:00 Mass or you may call Mrs. McKay at 402-1369, and she will
personally complete the form for you.Come join the fun at today’s tournament and at tomorrow’s

We are very excited to welcome Bishop Braxton to our school tomorrow,
Thursday, January 12.Thank you to
the students and teachers who have been working hard to prepare for this
special visit.I’d also like to
invite you to attend our second quarter Honors Ceremony which will be held
after the 8:15 A.M. Mass on Friday, January 13th.Students will be recognized for perfect
attendance and honor roll; an eighth grader will also receive an award from the
Optimist Club.You are welcome to
attend our annual geography bee, too.Representatives from the 4th-8th grade classes
will be participating in the bee, which will begin in the Munier Center
immediately following the awards.
Students and teachers return tomorrow, Wednesday, January 4th for a
full day of school with dismissal at 3:00 P.M.Bus service is available.Remember that it is the Auction Buyers Out of Uniform Day,
and the theme is to wear something new that you received over Christmas
break.
You are also invited to
participate in tomorrow’s Parents, Teachers, and Friends meeting at 6:30P.M. in
the school.Alumni and upper grade
students will provide free babysitting.
On Thursday, January 5th students may also dress
out of uniform, and they will be dismissed at 1:45 P.M. so the teachers can
have their monthly faculty meeting.Bus service will not be available that afternoon, but JagCare will be
available.
The
Drama Club rehearsal for tomorrow, Thursday, Nov. 17th has been
cancelled.I’d also like to take
this opportunity to thank you for your support of the PTF Quarter Auction that
is being held this coming Saturday.If you cannot attend the event but would still like to participate in
the drawing for over 70 items, you
can purchase an All-in-Paddle in advance.The PTF will have volunteers at the auction who will track the paddles
for those who cannot attend.If
you are interested, please send $25 in a clearly marked envelope to school by
